History

  • First flown on March 24th 1965, at Samlesbury. She was the 7th of the T.5 production batch of 20 aircraft.
  • June 1st 1965 issued to 226 OCU at Coltishall.
  • 1972 29 Sqdn Wattisham, Suffolk.
  • 1973 56 Sqdn Wattisham, Suffolk.
  • 1976 joined the ETPS at Boscombe Down.
  • 13th August 1987 was her last flight, flown by Colin Wilcock (the last log book entry is shown opposite). Total flying time of 2,210 hours. 
  • Mid 1989 acquired by Wensley Haydon-Baillie and placed into storage at Southampton.
  • Mid 1997 acquired by Marine Salvage.
  • 1997 purchased by AALO and shipped to Stennis, MS, USA.


Longitudinal Stability Report

We'd like to thank former RAF Squadron Leader, John A Brown, for sending us a flight test report of the longitudinal stability of XS422, while he was a student of ETPS in 1978.
